Be Totally Free friends scare up some fun on Halloween

Happy November!
We had a blast last night in West Hollywood, hanging out with ghosts, goblins, and DRAG QUEENS!! It was good fun with some of the greatest costumes I’ve ever seen.
It was also a fun time for Dana (our newest client from Romania). THANK YOU to all who have generously contributed to help Dana be able to stay here while she recovers from Bulimia and starts her new life. Since the day she arrived, Dana has been effortlessly free from her symptoms of Bulimia and compulsive eating and is doing great – she is truly a gem and is blessing us all (That’s her on the left in the witch costume.)
If you know anyone suffering with any addiction they cannot stop, please refer them to our website or forward this newsletter. There is no actual charge for Be Totally Free services, we simply want to help and reach those who need us most. Thanks for helping people find us so they can heal.
I have a new CD out!! It’s called “3 Meal Magic: The Amazing Non-Diet for Emotional Eaters” and I believe that this is the #1.5 secret to overcoming emotional eating (BTF is #1 of course). Whether it’s late night binges or all-day grazing, you MUST listen to this CD. I poured my heart and soul into this CD because I believe it’s something that everyone in this country should hear…I’m not kidding! To learn more click here.
Thanks again for all your support and please read on…
Love,
Tricia

Dear Ask It:
I’ve read in magazines that a good way to control your appetite is to eat several small meals a day. I’ve been doing this, plus I work out, but I don’t lose any weight. I’m so frustrated, what can I do to make the scale move (downward)??

Dear Frustrated:
Many people have adopted the “many small meals a day plan” in hopes of keeping their metabolism from slowing down. While this idea of never getting too hungry and keeping the metabolism charged is sound, if you are an emotional eater, it can seriously backfire.
When we eat often, it’s easy to lose count of what we eat and the calories we’re consuming and then end up overeating by day’s end. Then there is the problem of never getting hungry and therefore becoming “allergic” to any feelings of hunger. The first growl of the stomach puts you into a panic and a search for a snack to fill the void. Hunger is hard for emotional eaters because it’s when our stomachs aren’t full that we begin to feel feelings (those things we like to avoid at all costs).
Changing your meals to 3 a day and becoming acquainted with what shows up in between the meals (getting to know who you are and what you’re feeling) can literally transform your life. You will find that your focus transfers from food to life, making it easier to address problems head on instead of looking for a buffer to help you cope. Food thoughts diminish and weight loss happens without directly trying. For more help on how to adopt this new “non-diet” lifestyle, please click here: http://www.betotallyfree.com/buy.php

Walk it off: 8 easy ways to stay fit
- Cross it off: bring your cell phone on your walk and use the 10 minutes to get something done from your to-do list. Schedule a doctor’s appointment, call a friend or navigate through a customer service maze. You’ll gain a sense of accomplishment, feel more relaxed and be less likely to open the fridge.
- Head to the local mall: instead of casually window-shopping, walk briskly, pumping your arms at a 90-degree angle to get your heart rate up. Walk from one end of the mall to the other and back.
- Move on up: climb a set of stairs for two minutes, followed by 30 seconds holding a “wall sit”: Lean your back against the wall and then slide down into a seated position where your thighs are as parallel to the floor as possible. Repeat three times.
- Pack your bags: Always have your walking gear together in one place so you don’t waste time tracking down your sneaks or a sweatshirt when you’ve got 10 minutes to spare.
- Treat yourself: If you usually have a 3 pm vending-machine craving, take a walk to the nearest drugstore (or drive and park your car in the far corner of the parking lot) and splurge on a calorie-free pick-me-up, like a nail polish or a new magazine.
- Find an evening activity: After dinner start an active routine with your family: a 10-minute get-moving DVD game like Dance, Dance Revolution or a brisk stroll around the neighborhood. No time? March in place from the opening credits to the first commercial break of your favorite show. Squeeze in your stomach (as if you were trying to fit into a slightly-too-small pair of pants) as you march to strengthen your core.
- Call a buddy: Make a date to walk together three days a week. Take turns playing follow-the-leader; try things like side-stepping for one minute, which will target your inner-and outer- thigh muscles.
- Walk to the beat: create a playlist or choose a favorite CD that you listen to only when you work out. Vary your pace by changing music genres throughout your walking workout. For example, pair a fast Madonna dance song with something slow, like a Norah Jones track.

A Crispy Chicken Caesar Salad at McDonald’s with croutons and a packet of dressing supplies 550 calories, the calorie equivalent of a Quarter Pounder with Cheese (that’s 35.5 grams or 9 teaspoons of fat).
