Overcoming compulsive eating: personality factors

There are a number of theories pertaining to the causes and mechanisms of eating disorders. At Be Totally Free, we have researched, collected a wealth of information, and devised a theory to help those overcoming compulsive eating.

One of the theories pertaining to the causes and mechanisms of eating disorders involves personality factors. Research shows that there are a number of factors that place individuals at risk for substance and food abuse.

There is often a need to discharge affective experience through action or behavior rather than being able to talk about it in affected individuals. There is also often an inability to regulate tension, a need for immediate gratification, poor impulsive control, and a fragile sense of self. Frequently, individuals who need help for compulsive overeating self medicate, or substitute, binge eating with drugs or alcohol. Maybe that sounds like you. Or, maybe it doesn't.

Help for compulsive overeating

Founder of Be Totally Free, Tricia Greaves, has experienced the unhappiness and destruction caused by eating disorders, but much of the research did not apply to her. She came from a perfectly healthy, loving family, had tried every recovery program available to her, and was desperately looking for a compulsive eating cure. She found help for compulsive overeating when God brought Roy Nelson into her life.

Roy taught Tricia a number of things, but most importantly, he taught her that to defeat the symptoms of her eating disorder (overeating, drinking, etc.), she had to uncover the real, underlying cause. Once Tricia discovered that there was, indeed, a void in her life that she was trying to fill, she was instantly healed. She went on to become an expert in nutrition, and founded Be Totally Free in 2000.

At Be Totally Free, we believe we have the ability to heal any kind of addiction. We believe that curing an addiction (overcoming compulsive eating, drinking, drugs, etc.) is as simple as unearthing the real cause or void that a person is trying to heal or fill with their behavior. If you're looking for compulsive eating disorder help, information, treatment, etc. please browse BeTotallyFree.com to find out what we have to offer. If you need our help, please fill out a personal evaluation. It's free, and your well being cannot wait.
